Ocean Ridge Community and Contractors

Until further notice from the MPOA, the restriction prohibiting work by contractors within the Ocean Ridge Community on Sundays will be lifted and not enforced. Contractors are still expected to abide by the remaining rules and regulations governing contractor’s work in the Community, including hours of operation and access to the Community. Should circumstances require your contractor to work beyond the permitted hours, please call Horace Kinsey to obtain a waiver of this requirement.

If you intend to engage a contractor that is not located on the beach and island and is not known to our security personnel at the front gate, please call the front gate (telephone number for front gate is 843-631-5131) to identify who they are and when they will be coming. In addition, have your contractor be prepared to provide all necessary information to our security personnel, such as the contractor’s full name and business address and your name and address.

The lifting of this restriction does not modify or exempt you or your contractor from obtaining all permits and licenses as may be required by the Town of Edisto Beach for the work to be completed. All questions regarding the above should be directed to Horace Kinsey at Southern Community Services (843-869-4300).

Update from Southern Community Services Regarding Our Community

Representatives of SCS and the MPOA were able to complete a survey of the community today. The roads have been cleared of trees but extensive debris remains on the roads making travel difficult and in many areas limited to one lane.

The survey revealed a large number of trees having been blown down but fortunately a limited amount of damage to houses and roofs. Where major damage did occur, SCS has notified the owners of those houses. If you have not been so notified, your home did not show any visible major damage.
